"Those who protect and serve our communities, those who keep our children and families safe, deserve our full support."

Law enforcement officers fight every day to protect our communities and Congressman Leonard Boswell has carried that fight to Washington to ensure that law enforcement has the resources they need to successfully protect and serve Iowans.

As a Co-founder and Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus to Fight and Control Methamphetamine, Boswell has championed legislation that has successfully clamped down on the methamphetamine labs that threaten our communities and children, and he has proven himself a leader in the fight in Congress to restore critical funding for local law enforcement agencies.

Boswell understands that in public safety the top concern of most Iowans is the protection of our children. He has successfully secured funding for the Drug Endangered Children program in Iowa and has pushed to improve criminal records in order to more effectively protect our communities from sex offenders and others who may pose a threat to public safety. Boswell has also voted to protect our children from online predators and cyber crimes.

Boswell understands that policing and incarceration alone will not make our communities safe, which is why he supports funding for treatment programs, juvenile rehabilitation programs, and has voted to improve ex-offender re-entry programs to help individuals return to society as productive citizens.
